We are so excited to announce the incredible artist we have stepping into the Executive Producer role for Afro Sistahs: ROSIE LOURDE

Guiding the Collective through the next chapter in our journey to making the Afro Sistahs series a reality, we have Rosie Lourde at the helm. A renowned practitioner in a diverse range of fields, including as actor/Producer on Starting From Now, we are honoured to have a powerhouse like Rosie on our team. With extensive experience both domestically and internationally, Rosie’s ability and willingness to share her skills, knowledge and expertise in the making of this series strongly align with the collective’s goals to build and share skills, access, and resources with our communities. As we head into 2019 there will be plenty more action behind the scenes and you all will no doubt get an opportunity to hear from her.


ABOUT ROSIE

Rosie Lourde actor/producer/writer/director. She was an actor/producer on digital series STARTING FROM NOW (SFN), which has amassed over 100 million views around the world with Seasons 4 and 5 being sold to broadcast in Australia. SFN won numerous awards including the IAWTV Diversity Award at HollyWeb 2017, Outstanding Diversity Award at Melbourne Webfest, Best Narrative Feature at the Mardi Gras Film Festival 2016 and Most Outstanding Ensemble Cast at the LA Webfest 2016, with Rosie winning the award for Best Actress for her work in SFN Season 5 at the Vancouver Webfest. Rosie is writer/director/producer on 1st person virtual reality short BREACH. Rosie’s first project as a producer, feature film SKIN DEEP, won the AfterEllen Best Indie Film of 2015, was awarded an Honorable Mention for Best Narrative Feature at the Austin Film Festival 2014 and was nominated for both Australian Writers and Directors Guild awards. Rosie is a Vice President of Women in Film and TV, NSW and was recently the Investment Manager of Online Production at Screen Australia overseeing government financing of short-form digital series and narrative XR.
